Numerous different milling drums are available for the W 120 F, equipped with different toolholder systems. Our delivery range additionally includes a large choice of cutting tools, enabling you to find the ideal tool for any given application and for completing your projects profitably and in top quality.
The Flexible Cutter System or simply FCS enables milling drums to be changed quickly and easily. These cold milling machines provide access to the milling drum from the side, enabling it to be removed quite easily. The drum to be replaced is deposited on a mounting carriage and can then be pulled from the drum housing effortlessly. Mounting of the new drum in the housing is just as simple. When installing a milling drum of different milling width, the scraper blade is also modified accordingly.
Being able to convert his cold milling machine in such a short time enables the owner to use one machine for various types of work. A large variety of FCS drums with different working widths and tool spacings are available for the W 120 F. No more than 2 to 3 hours are needed to change the milling drum, converting the small milling machine from standard milling to fine milling.
FCS greatly increases the machine's flexibility, opening up many new fields of application and improving its economic efficiency.

The milling drums in the W 120 F are fitted with the quick-change toolholder system HT11. Certain fine milling drums are fitted with rigidly welded toolholders.
HT5 is a toolholder system for fine milling drums. The one-piece, special toolholders are rigidly welded onto the drum body. They also accommodate standard cutting tools with a shaft diameter of 20 mm. Their special design enables them to be positioned very close to one another, offering an extremely narrow tool spacing.
Quick-change toolholder systems consist of a bottom part that is rigidly welded onto the drum body and an upper part fastened to the bottom part by a retaining bolt. The upper parts accommodate cutting tools that rotate freely in the tool shaft during the milling operation.
Hallmarks of the HT11 quick-change toolholder system include:

The cutting tool tips are subject to tremendous loads during the milling operation, which is why they are made from particularly wear-resistant carbide metal. Tool tips are available in different shapes and sizes for milling different types of material.
The steel body enclosing the tool tip shows different degrees of hardness in the tool head and shaft. Their special shape, materials used and different degrees of hardness enable the cutting tools to absorb the shear stresses and impact loads acting on them during the milling operation.
A wear plate additionally protects the upper part of the toolholder from premature wear and tear. A clamping sleeve ensures optimum tool rotation, precise positioning, and a firm hold of the tool in the toolholder.
The R-series cutting tools of the "Rotation" system are the latest innovation in the field of cutting technology. New materials and enhanced shape designs, as well as a specially coated clamping sleeve permit maximum milling performance at minimum wear and tear, scoring top marks in terms of economic efficiency. Extremely simple tool insertion and extraction reduces stoppages for cutting tool replacement, and increases productivity.
