The self-propelled side feeder is an ideal link between the slipform paver and discontinuous concrete feeding via excavators or trucks.
The required stability of special concrete profiles that will be subject to extreme loads is achieved by using large reinforcements that are laid out ahead of the slipform paver. When that is the case, delivery of concrete is possible from the side only. The side feeder has been developed for this special type of application. It travels on the steel reinforcement ahead of the slipform paver, is charged from the side and spreads the concrete evenly across the entire profile width.
